Art Foundation: First-Year Art Experience
Art Foundation is a multidisciplinary, first-year experience for Art Studio and Art Education majors in the Department of Art. Students engage in a diverse range of art making approaches and processes that promote a sustainable artistic practice through curiosity and research. Courses are designed to improve visual-spatial intelligence while encouraging exploration, questioning, and risk-taking. Students will gain an ability to develop their visual fundamentals and learn multiple strategies for idea generation by engaging in a shared cultural dialogue, collaboration, and new ways of thinking. This year-long introduction to technical skills, craft, critical thinking, and research, will aid the student in achieving success in their chosen disciplines.
