Friends of Art

Friends of Art was formed in 2000 to provide supplemental financial support to the Department of Art, and to participate in building the CSU art program to one of the preeminence in the Southeast. Funding made possible through the Friends of Art provides a margin of excellence not possible through state appropriations.

Seaboard Depot, 941 Front Avenue
with a reception

Circle of Interest is a special event that invites art enthusiasts inside the faculty studios in the CSU Department of Art to learn more about their practice. Our first program this fall will explore contemporary approaches and art historical perspectives on Renaissance painting. Our featured faculty are Prof. Orion Wertz, painter and illustrator and Dr. Claire McCoy, the William B. and Sue Marie Turner Faculty Chair in Art History. Join us and explore the studio practice of Wertz while Dr. McCoy gives a twist and historical interpretation of painting during the Renaissance.
